This has been implemented now in the upcoming hildon-application-manager.
There will be a new "List of Applications" category in the Backup/Restore tools
for this.

See http://hildon-app-mgr.garage.maemo.org/ for details about the new
Application Manager. It is available in Sardine unstable.

Yes, hope it will be really possible. I tried once a method found here to fully backup my 770 (http://internettabletmania.wordpress...d-for-bug-974/) but with no luck

jeez, its just kinda refreshing to hear about some actual upcoming improvement... I am plum sick of skype skype skype.....

This is a welcome addition, particularly since we will ALL be reflashing.....I for one look forward to NOT having to reload all my apps....

I wonder what else the new firmware will offer (OTHER THAN SKYPE!!)

I just meant that the only "date" or "milestone" we knew about was "before Q2/H1 07". Than one was disrespected, and as already lots of posters pointed out, Nokia did not even say "sorry, we're late, please wait another 2 months (or whatever)". That would be enough for me because, even if I would quite disappointed for the late arrival of the update, I had a date in which I had to expect it.

In this case, we are just here hoping for the release to come out. I know people will refresh the maemo.org page for months..

maxilogan, i edited my post. i too wish there was a better description of short, mid, and long term like say month/year. And this is just a blog. i think it would be much better if Nokia posted something like this on their website.

Don't get me wrong i love the n800 and have no problems waiting but i am human and the little boy in me wants to know when.
