Hi all, 1st post here... I got my N900 this afternoon... hehe..
I like it, havent had time to play with all the functions so, I cannot say whether Its awesome or not... it looks OK till now ... I just need to tweak some settings and try to get on the forums to know it better..

Ive been a hardcore Nokia user but they let me down by the late release of the N97, and I went to HTC HD instead at that time..

Back on topic, Can anyone please tell me if there is any app to stream audio via bluetooth?? It doesnt look like its built in the OS. I paired it with my car stereo earlier, and I was surprised it didnt play music. It showed handsfree only ???

It has a2dp/avrc profiles like any good mobile does nowadays. streaming audio works great on my car stereo.

This sould indeed work out of the box using the built-in media player.

You might want to check your firmware version. I had problems similar to what you describe with my stereo Bluetooth headset until Nokia released the current version (go to setting->about product and check that the version starts with 2.2009.51).

Otherwise, workarounds toforce a given bluetooth profile are expalined in this thread.

    HTH,
    Christian

maybe a bit off topic, but is it also possible to stream audio to the N900?
for example: I have a laptop with crappy speakers on my lap.
I have the N900 hooked up on my entertainment system.
so how to stream the audio to the N900?

sinds I paired my N900 i can select 'bluetooth audo' but can't hear a thing.

put ur songs in the shared/public folder ..
allow media sharing in control panel
open music player in n900, and on the bottom left, u will hopefully see your laptop name.

btw this works with my wireless router and when my n900 is connected to my wlan.. i dont know about bluetooth as i dont have t in my lappy..

bt stream for music has always worked for me, i just paired my n900 and jvc kd-avx77 and opened music player and it plays files, i can browse files from my jvc car stereo too.. not the full listing but next, previous, pause/play and stop works just fine.. and when a call is coming my car stereo shows who is calling and i can answer through my jvc car stereo system because it has hands free function

interesting... does it ring through ur car stereo also? my previous phone did.. but this one rings on the phone only, but i can answer/decline on my car stereo...

i think drips is talking about music which is stored on the laptop to play ON the N900...
