For consistency though I think we need to have some idea of basic representation and resolution. Are we going for tope down/side on/3D look? Are we going for pieces of lego used to build levels or custome graphics per level? Can we maybe utilise some of the work done by the team that are building the editor for Angry Birds level editor?

OR MAYBE!!!

Can anyone remember those cool water and oil things that you turn upside down and the oil drops spining wheels?

maybe you could have something like that, Where you have to position the oil in a place where when water is added it does something else.

I had one of those - and yes, I guess that's the sort of thing that was in the back of my mind. The vieo is on its side, though

Please, please reanimate!

But, unfortunately, I guess RevdKathy was knifed down by the MeeGo announcement (still here and alive but not as often seen as before) and Texrat has a lot of other stuff to discuss to keep the community together and prepare the movement.

I hope this comment could help to bring them booth back to this topic.

Why not make something like liqflow but actually rendered (surface reconstruction using a fast marching cubes), with different elements (solids, rigid-bodies, porous objects, fluids of different viscosity, multi-fluid, non-newtonian fluids, ferrofluids <- those are the coolest things ever). Once there's a simulator that can do these things, one can start thinking about a game idea around it that makes it more than a toy.

I'd write that simulator myself but I'm a total noob at maemo developing. Now the simulator part itself is pretty easy.
