Just bought n900 recently cause finally it seemed to be device/OS/development community I was waiting for.
Being a new to maemo and linux I installed lots of stuff - mainly trying to install the tested or apps under test. Now desktop operations seem to be twice as slow as they used to be when switching between processes. It hangs for seconds sometimes or even longer.
I assume some process (maybe the one that is registering in the system area?) is taking load during switching off desktops or to/from settings panels and processes, etc.
Could someone please advise on how I could try to troubleshoot the problem? Guess this is a naive question so -maybe there is some stuff to read to get educated on that..?
P.S. Maybe it's stupid but I noticed via htop that XOrg is run with verbose logging mode... Can this be the reason of slowing the perf. down?
Thanks in advance,
Anton
