    Hey guys,

I installed the mscim-googlepinyin package in order to use Chinese characters on my N900. However, I just can't figure out where to activate the pinyin mode. Google's project page and Maemo wiki just tell me how to install but not how to use the package... can anybody help?

    Cheers!

Please help me if ANYONE knows how to use the MSCIM pinyin package, or knows any other way to input Chinese characters!

Irving, hold Ctrl then press space to enable pinyin mode. Do the same to disable.

Thank you, kwurk. Unfortunately, pressing Ctrl+Space does not invoke any reaction on my device.

Re configuration: In my Settings menu, I have an item "MSCIM Input Method" with two entries "Input panel follows the cursor" and "Enable GooglePinyin", both activated. Do I need to configure any more?

After you've ctrl space, simple type into the field using Hanyu Pinyin and the prompts wil pop out. Unlike vkb.

Mscim Google Pinyin WILL DISABLE virtual keyboard and you can only use qwerty kb untill they have resolved bugs.

P/S: Mscim Google also prevents Facebook widget from opening url.

    From the linked web page:

    System Requirements

    Microsoft Windows 7/Vista/XP
Support 64-bit version of Microsoft Windows 7/Vista/XP
    Internet Explorer 6.0 +

The N900 does not satisfy any of those requirements.

    Try Mscim-Googlepinyin.

This will require enabling the extras-devel repository.
