Hey there, i'm hoping that some one could help me out. I've been trying to recompile a bunch of extra kernel modules by following this guide: http://wiki.maemo.org/Documentation/...o_Kernel_Guide

However, i'm stuck with a problem. The guide says i need to install the kernel-headers package but when i run apt-get install, the package isn't there.

Code:
[sbox-MaemoKernel: ~/maemo_kernel] > fakeroot apt-get install kernel-headers
Reading packagelists... Done
E: Couldn't find package kernel-headers

There is package linux-kernel-headers but I'm not 100% sure it's the correct one. Anyways I didn't bother with making a separate target in SB just for building kernels, the "stock" armel target works fine.

Anyways, this thread has a lot of discussion on compiling custom kernels and modules.

You can of course make the headers by building the kernel proper, "apt-get source kernel" the use dpkg-buildpackage or compile manually.

For my adventures in kernel-land see the MobileHotspot project ("How to change kernel feature X" at bottom of the page).
