Looks like Skype is now there to stay... at least has stayed some time.

Dunno why the OS update has not yet made it? The whole spanking new Skype is pretty much useless without the new OS...

Looks like the guys who work on Skype and others who work on ITOS are not talking to each others...

    Greetings:

Just refreshed my folder and the Skype Apps shows up.

But as the rest of you it will not install, missing files.

Man this is really torture, everyday we are getting closer.

    Hopefully Friday.

    Regards Robert

so what kind of headsets are going to be supported? I tried using my headphones that came with my N800, I thought the lil box was a microphone but there was no sound coming out... I heard BT headsets are not supported, so can I plug in and internet headset from Logitech or how the hell is this going to work? I never used Skype, I always just used my cell phone cause I have a great plan, but maybe it could be a replacement for calling Australia outside of a phonecard when I want to speak to my family... but really I am not really feeling encouraged, maybe someone can enlighten me, thanks in advance!

It says it's for Bora. Does this mean it will not work on Chinook? How does it work normally speaking: programs for bora work for future firmware's or what?

The little box is a microphone I have used those headphones with Gizmo numerous times. Also on top of your device is a little microphone so you can use the N800 as a desktop speakerphone or plug in regular headphones into the Jack and use the units built in mic.
Basically its a great little form factor for a Wi-Fi phone.

For the last time (as it's now been proven) the new firmware is [em]not[/em] Chinook. Where on earth this rumour came from I've no idea, but it's Just. Plain. Wrong.

4.2007.26-8 is based on Maemo 3.2.
