I found a blog claiming that the Nokia 770 has terrible wifi reception and connectivity issues. Is this true?

Looks like this guy got a bad unit and has been in contact with Nokia. I hope they do the right thing and replace it quickly.

There is no way the wifi reception is poor - I have picked up neighbours wifi networks that none of my laptops have ever picked up.

I even had to go and show one of them that they really should have some security on it

I've got to agree, the wifi on mine seems fine, pretty sensitive in fact.
Not had any problems with it at all, to me it sounds like the other guy has a faulty unit or dare I say it user error?

I have to chime in too, the wifi reception on mine is outstanding. I get connection in places in my home my laptop or PSP cannot. I have also found wifi spots that were not detected at all by my other devices.

I thought I had a removable antenna on my Netgear RT614 router, but when I pulled on it I found out the hard way that I didn't. All that's left is a little stub of an antenna, but my 770 still connects to it

And yes, I'm a dumbass for pulling that antenna off.

    Another positive report here.

I work in a recording studio that has very thick concrete walls on the outside as well as being doubled walls on the inside.

The 770 will pick up signals with stuff outside the studio when nothing else will.

My family was on vacation for Christmas. While visiting family I used their neighbors wireless routers. And though the hotels I checked into on the trip did not have 'free wireless' the ones across the street certainly did.

Connections can be a little wonky when signals are too low, but I think that happens with all wireless stuff.

I am more than pleased with the wireless capability on the 770.
