Do i have to copy the file using x terminal? How do i access - /user/share/themes/YOURTHEME/images/ApplicationShorcutApplet.png

Thanks for bearing with me, i'm still very much learning. Apologies for clogging up the thread with this noob query.
    hehe not a problem...

Backup program will copy all your user settings, in the event of a flash needed, everything goes back to factory settings if you do emmc too (see wiki - flasher)
When you restore it will ask you to re-install all the apps you had before + the settings....

i use winscp to copy the files (Over my home wireless) - that may take alittle bit of learning

Cheers for your help monkeyman! I'm sure we'll cross paths again in the future when i need more help with something very simple to someone like yourself.
i think you will be ok, winscp - is fine - i am new to linux, and it took me 10 mins to get it working.

I'd suggest before trying new things that you know how to flash your device and restore - that way when you really need to do it, you will be comfortable

Cheers again, have bookmarked those links so i can come back and review at a later date.
Good luck - theres always people on here to assist if needed, or on irc D:, and if you find any useful guides etc - feel free to post links etc

edit - you can use joiku to let your pc use your phones connection wirelessly (Battery drain though!)

I like keeping things in order

    Done few minor UI mods.
    - Bookmark shortcuts are logos not screenshots of page
    - Application background hidden
    - Custom battery icon

Is there a similar tutorial for replacing bookmarks with icons or can you inform me of the process involved please?
All you have to do is swap the PNG images that represent bookmarks with your own custom images. You can find png files in ~/.bookmarks/home-thumbnails

I found the instructions from here

What i did to get rid of the borders for the desktop shortcuts was:
    start x-terminal
    type root
    cd /user/share/themes/THEMENAME/images/
and then only renamed the file
    ApplicationShorcutApplet.png to ApplicationShorcutApplet.png.old with the mv-command
    after that rebooted the phone...
