Default Dead FM Transmitter Warning.

After speaking to some of the guys in #maemo it seems that some units are being shipped with dead FM transmitters.
I picked up my N900 7th March in the UK, the transmitter did not work what so ever even after flashing both the UK variant firmware and the updated general firmware.
I have since swapped the unit and the FM TX works perfectly.
Save your time by needlessly troubleshooting and flashing by testing your FM TX before you setup your device.

I hope this helps somebody.

There are some devices with disabled FM-transmitters.
That does not necessarily that they are not working.
qwerty12 has written a program, which enables the FM-transmitter.

I understand there are units with disabled FM TX but mine could be enabled and configured but just did not actually transmit. The next unit from the same Carphone Warehouse store worked fine.

I have had similar problem. Removing and reinserting the battery has revived the transmitter.
