I've done six years of professional QA (including 2 with a cell phone gaming company on several different platforms, including Nokia). Bugzilla is burned into my retinas and I'm currently on vacation... so... yeah, maybe.

Can those of you that have not fixed the issue yet please send me some screenshots of the various graphical bugs found after installation of the new firmware? (I'll grab the Youtube one from ThoughtFix's blog...)

(My tablet's not updated yet - don't have the necessary cable with me!)

Do also take note that if you flash the latest kernel and have problems, to indicate whether you restored a backup of your settings or you are running from scratch (without restoring any backups).

I noticed that those having some issues had restored from backups.

Did I miss anything? Anything needs to be further clarified?

For the textbox issues, apparantly switching the theme to something else and switching back, then rebooting will solve the problem.

Again, this was seen on users who restored backups.

Just be glad that you don't own a Nokia 3650/7650 which have major memory leaks every time you try using GetResourceAsStream, basically forcing you to reboot the phone once every ten minutes of using games or anything Java based.

ok just read the entire thread, updated my machine and here are my thoughts.

It really is a decent update. It's not all I was hoping for, but its steps in the right direction. And if like Texrat has said it helps developers then we are all in for some good stuff in the near future. I'm optimistic.

I'd rather have frequent less important updates than have to wait a year or more at a time for huge ones. If this device is going to catch on, the users need to know there are updates to be had, and stuf is being worked on.

Hopefully this is the first in a series of updates for this great lil device.

/me goes back to hacking on his N800

I have an N75 that randomly decides not to let me answer calls on occasion, or even call out unless I restart the phone. I seem to be the only one, too! *sigh* With our factory shut down, I don't know who to take it to either.

Anyway, very well written bug report.

Where is that wacky June 11th guy?

Maybe he can predict when the next update will come.
