Application To break Down all the data transfer jargon (mbps vs MB/s) would be greatly appreciated!

Some of us are better at math than others. and even more of us are worst at putting terms like Tbps in to practical real life applications. (when i first saw it i thought it denoted a measure of an ingrediant) I think it would be cool if we had something that broke things down into tecnical AND practical terms so us non-tech folks can get a idea of how long it takes to say... download a song from the internet when we hear 6 mbps download speed.
