Hi to everyone - been searching around on site for a solution to increase or a setting to adjust voice command volume i did at one stage mangae to use software setting to adjust volume but never was was successful, i now have the answer as really the normal volume control on n900 does nothing, i am not technicl but i thought after all the help i have received from site i should atleast inform if you do not know that if you see where the battery and cell network signal box is at top of screen and click on that and you get option to select wifi, set time and alarm, its so simple the profile volume slider is actually the controller for volume so if you incease it to high as you would set you ringtone to high if your out and about, you will get max volume from sygic voice command hope it gives you a better feeling of using sygic.
bye all hope it helps.`
I bought Sygic Mobile Maps yesterday. I tried it on my N900, but the voice volume is quite low!
Using FM transmitter is pretty inconvenient, this is why I'd like to boost the volume.
Yes, I have used the N900's volume rocker and set the volume to MAX.
Yes, I have (and MAXIMIZED) used the (unofficial) volume setting in the Sygic app itself which you have to unlock in the /home/user/MyDocs/Drive/Maemo/settings.ini file.
I even unpacked the voice file (deu.pak for me as a German) using PakHandler to see whether it's the ogg files that are too quiet.
It turns out that those ogg files are way louder when played through the N900 Media Player.
So my conclusion: It has to do with the Sygic application. How can make the application boost the voice volume?
Thanks in advance,
Michael
