I want my photos and applications to save automatically to my memory card instead of phone memory. I thought it would be easy but i am not sure how to???? help please

For photos:
Open lens cover
Click icon to the right of remaining pic counter
Select "memory card" for /media/mmc1/DCIM/
Select "internal storage" for ~/MyDocs/DCIM/

Nope no idea...that's a per-application thing.
