you need to install "rootsh" via app-manager.

then close app-manager because it locks the root privs and you can't get them in xterm.

after closing app-manager try these two commands again in xterm.

Make sure that you do not have any other apps open that might be locking the file. Just try it with x-term open.

as b666m suggested you should try to reinstall hildon-desktop via:

sudo gainroot
apt-get install --reinstall hildon-desktop
as the "sudo gainroot" command is now available for you. Be sure to have only x-term open and close everything else.

This will (hopefully, as I don't have experience with what is included in hildon-desktop) reinstall the whole thing and get you correct locale linkings.

That's actually the file that tells your phone
"user is in USA, using us english, translate wdgt_va_12h_time_am to "clock""

Be aware that this whole process is on your own risk
Be sure to have your phone fully charged. I don't know how long it will take to reinstall hildon-desktop. A dying battery during that, would cause more trouble.

That didn't work, I tried a few times already ...I am so frustrate with my phone right now because I couldn't comprehend the system. The weird thing is that my new install applications are readable but only the original/factory things aren't readable. When I check my "file manager" my folders document, image, sound/video clips and camera have double folders and display as"sfil_li_folder_video_clips". Also when I answer call today, I could hear my own voice.

I would install that application for my own risk but it's not only the time but other factory applications as well...

So you have some serious configuration problem occuring there (recording device routed to output I assume).

First choice: Wait for someone here who has enough knowledge to fix all those little problems.
Second choice: Reflash your phone and eMMC and try to fix them all at once.

http://wiki.maemo.org/Updating_the_firmware

Read it, understand it (important point, that most users having problems with reflash miss ) and go for it.
If all fails and you're totally left a Nokia Care Center should be able to reflash your device for you (though this may cost some kind of fee).

I'm a little scare because the flasher is still in progress and it's on my own risk...

For some reasons, I think I deleted or installed something I shouldn't because the translation only not displaying the factory applications. Will you (or anyone) be kind to tell me what is Nokia N900 original factory folders or what's inside? It would be great if there is a place for me download back the original installation and folders.

Many thanks,
