Well, title said it all. It may be just coincidental, I was able to press '1' to accept incoming internet call using Skype ever since I owned the N900, 12/15/20009 -> and ALL OF A SUDDEN, after recent upgrade, I cannot do it any more, has anybody experienced similar problem?

I even reflashed the whole thing, still, no go. I also installed The One Ring, still no go. I have no cellphone, and the N900 has been my only cellphone for the last 2 month....I just cannot accept incoming call anymore. Everytime there is an incoming call, I have to call back.

My setup is listed here, http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=38043, to use my N900 as a cellphone FREE, well, not anymore

and my recent change is put in a sim card from Tmobile, I just took it out, same, cannot press 1 to receive incoming call, this is driving me mad.

Edit: Problem solved, see recent posting

1. Skype was never good with DTMF and I've yet to get Skype to reliably send tones even when I use my PC for Skype calls.
2. Gizmo, being SIP, is better at DTMF, but gizmo itself seems to be shall we say "quirky" sometimes.
3. GV has an option to disable call presentation for everyone so you don't need to press 1
4. GV also has the option of putting people into groups and not having call presentation for that group. I use this method.

Enjoy your free calls!

Yes, I am able to answer incoming call by turning off the "presenting/greeting" screen, phone answer right away. However, I am still NOT able to press any key when calling phone requesting a key input, like a greeting menu on the other end of the line, i.e., I am still not able to do DTMF(?) input on my N900. I was able to do that since I own my N900 untill the latest update. Anybody facing similar situation and, possible work around? WIthout the DTMF input, almost half of the phone line I cannot use! Any suggestions? This is using the internet phone, I do not know if this is also a problem, if I use my Tmobile,

TIA,

bun

Did you reflash the eMMC? (Just a desperation thought, I have no idea.)

Umm.....no, I have not tried that, should I? I got to look it up to see how to do it ..., thanks for the thought, it is very irritating that I cannot use my N900 when the other line requesting a key input, especially I was able to do that before the update.

I did reflash the whole N900 recently and use the re-store afterward, situation unchanged.

I will give it a shot over the weekends. However, I also recall seeing some post that skype cannot do key input, my N900 was able to .... up till this latest upgrade Maybe it is NOT suppose to to begin with, confusing confusing

Well, you haven't done an entire flash unless you've flashed the eMMC, so if you are trying to get back to zero, that's the only way to do it. I had to do that to fix my gps access once. It's not difficult, just irritating that there is now that extra step to get rid of your earlier settings. You can still restore from backup, of course.

Did not do anything different, just keep on trying....and find out how it works:

It works, you just have to keep playing with it.

After making the call, if DTMF is needed, press the "back arrow" at top of right corner>Dialing pad>now press the digit, the DTMF would now work. Any time when it does not seem to work, type back arrow key and press the Dialing pad again, that will make DTMF work. Now my internet phone is a REAL phone, again!
