The "Settings..." (local storage etc.) were there on the old version too.

I dont remember this working like this before. It is a realy nice touch.
My N800 does that with the old firmware. I wish it didn't though: If I increase the zoom, I'd prefer it to stay that way.

IMHO very important: battery management has pretty much improved, as announced on the release notes. I d say by 30% (I can do the same things I used to with having to recharche only in the evening instead of noon-afternoon), but this might be optimistic from me. Anyway, there IS improvement.

Last night I took mine out back while sitting next to the chimnea fire with friends. We could easily pass the N800 around pulling songs off YouTube and battery life wasn't an issue. I could provide music before but only from my pre-installed files or radio links.

This time 4 or 5 people used it for the first time and were able to pull what they wanted to hear, with little or no instructions. We were all Happy Campers last night.

The improved touch screen sensitivity is really appreciated, it's now much more like my Palm. As I keep using both devices I was always aware of the fact that I had to press harder on the N800. Now it's good.

I checked the camera after reading one of the above posts, and indeed it seems to be less red now.. good!

Obviously I also like having Skype on it, I always used my laptop for that before. Now it can stay packed away most of the time (and I didn't use to be on Skype that much lately because I had to unpack the laptop). Now I'm back online. And one more thing - the Skype interface on the N800 is like the old Skype versions for Linux, which were much much nicer than the current Desktop Linux version (which doesn't have the history tab, for example). Good stuff.

Now I only need java applet support in the browser and I would be able to do all my networking on the N800.
