I am using the V3.2010.02-8 firmware. You can see your firmware version by calling *#0000#.

I am using the V3.2010.02-8 firmware too, i even reflashed my phone today with both images: fiasco/rootfs and eMMC, but that didn't solve the problem as well as for you too.

So, i'm really getting mad about that

A helping hand from experienced users is needed. Please

I noticed that in Phone settings, i can save the following changes:
1. call waiting checkbox
2. Network selection (manual or automatic)

I cannot change:
1. network mode (3G, Dual, GSM) it is always 3G no matter what i try to change and save
2. call forwarding - i can't turn it off, it has same preset phone number to forward the calls, which can be changed with one from selected contact, but can't be changed if i just manually edit the number (to change the last number, let's say) it says "wrong number"

The thing is that with 3G/GSM/Dual network selection applet i cannot change network modes (as with phone settings too) and earlier, i used to use 2G/GSM mode, as the battery lasts longer with it, rather than with 3G.

This is really strange... Now I tried v2 and v3 and none of them let me choose 2G. I'll try V1 and see if that helps. I'll report back!

Hmm... v1 cant find my sim card. I know that v1 had problem with some sim-cards, but I did have v1 on my old n900 without any problems...

it's not because of that, it's the other reason.

As I said in my last post it was working with v1 as v2 was not even out when I got my phone and I could make calls...

I have not tried to change network mode but I can confirm that call forwarding cannot be changed. I tried many times to disable it and each time when I return to phone settings it is turned on with the same network-default phone number.

I am not mad but it is irritating that phone does not listen to me but to SIM card.

Firmware 3.2010-02-8 flashed by me (not OTA-upgraded).
I have rebooted, turned phone off, removed battery - situation stays the same.

This bug is incredibly annoying.

I need to stay on one specific network while roaming, otherwise my data charges go through the roof.

So, the natural way is to go to Settings -> Phone and set "Network selection" to Manual, and then select the appropriate network. all good. but once I hit save and exit the setting application, and then relaunch it - Network selection is back to 'automatic'.

this is incredibly frustrating and has cost me a lot of money already. Where are the settings stored? I'd like to manually alter them to make sure the phone sits on a specific network, and if there's no signal, it should just go offline, not switch to another network.

Edit: I'm using PR1.2. tried everything, rebooting, zapping the settings - you name it.
Edit 2: I'm on the operator 3.
