Then reflash your phone, and be more careful about what you install and particularly making sure you know *what* it is you install so that you can report faults to the developers.
The -testing and -devel repositories all have warnings that installing applications from them may kill your phone for a good reason, I don't see why when this happens you then immediately assume a virus?

"Help, my phone won't start up after installing X program" may have been a better title, given everyone a bit more info and a little less alarmist. Using the word "Virus" will always raise alarm and not the best choiuce

Hope it gets sorted, I would just re-flash with teh latest firmware, assuming you made a back up before installing new s/w.

If you install something from devel repositories, only guarantee is that the software compiles. If you plan to install something from there, minimum effort is to find out from these forums whether the package is functioning at all.

I don't know any other cure than flashing, someone else might be wiser.

Can someone link to this thread the next time we want to warn new users about installing from extras-devel or extras-testing?

If it turns on OK then it is probably the app that screwed something.

If you don't mind reflashing your phone a bit and you get the hang of it you can provide useful feedback for devel and testing apps ;-)

Don't forget to install a virus scanner after reflash ...
