Hello, when I start the memory application of my n900 I have the following memory:
device : 55.8MB available
memory for installable applications : 109.4 Mb available

the total size for the memory of my n900 is given to be 455.8 mb, but where are the 32 gb internal memory ? Having only so small memory prevents me also from opening the mail and Internet.

anyone else experienced this problem ?

thanks for your help,
fretchen

You should see:

Nokia N900 (32GB or less free)

Memory Card(in case you have one)

Memory for installable applications(2GB or less free)

Unless you are plugged into a computer via USB in file sharing mode. In that case the larger (27GB) store is unmounted on the device and visible as a mounted USB disk on the other computer. Unplug the USB cable and check memory again.

IIRC you actually need to restart the N900.

I weren't connected to the pc.
if I do
mount /home/user/MyDocs I get the following error:
mount:can't find /home/user/MyDocs ub /etc/fstab .

So what should I do ?

my memory corrupted recently. Did similar thing. Showed nothing in MyDocs.

I had to reformat the device driver. FAT32. Noone suggested this wasn't the correct thing to do at the time I asked.

add this line to /etc/fstab

/dev/mmcblk0p1 /home/user/MyDocs vfat noauto,nodev,noexec,nosuid,noatime,nodiratime,utf8 ,uid=29999,shortname=mixed,dmask=000,fmask=0133,ro dir 0 0

Either connect to a PC in mass storage mode, in which case the drive should show up using the standard Windows tools, or install rootsh and, in X Terminal, do:
Code:
sudo gainroot
mkfs.vfat /dev/mmcblk0p1
