Well, title says all... since i will only be using my new sygic!

how-to, pros and cons...
any help with this mmmuch appreciated, thanx !

You'll have to do it from xterminal, If you know the directory of the OVi map then you can simply delete it but it might cause a problem to your device if you do that. I've never removed any official software before but that's how you'd do it.

on my n95 i had removed many nokia maps data without causing any trouble...

To remove all that you dont care about nokia customs like games etc do this, i'll post if you want a text file with the guide to remove games etc by xterm command

remove first fremantle generic etc...

do this on xterm and let me know it will work 4 shure

root
dpkg --purge mp-fremantle-generic-pr
dpkg --purge nokia-maps-core
dpkg --purge nokia-maps-maplets
dpkg --purge nokia-maps-ui
dpkg --purge nokiamaps-navigation-provider
exit
exit

The con is that you'll not be able to upgrade OTA to PR1.2 when it comes, UNLESS you revert the changes or reflash.

u'll upgrade and then you'll do what i wrote as i did when i get an update it work. when you get an update you'll see the pr 1.x with the uninstalled files

My my my... This is not Symbian, please do not compare Symbian to Maemo5. Two completely different OSs.

ok, i'll give it a try , thanks !

is this operation freeing root space for other apps ?
