Can someone shed some light on what is specific about ITT, Youtube, and Gmail?

I note that on BOTH ITT and Gmail there is online app to write (word processing).
I have exactly same problem here. Really annoying. Apparently Nokia ****ed up N800's wlan connection in latest fw update (from changelog: "improvements have been done around the wireless connection"). Youtube, Gmail etc. doesnt work (doesn't resolve or just doesn't load) when i use my own WPA encrypted Zyxel 660h adsl/wlan router connection but they seem to work fine when i connect to my neighbours unencrypted wlan. Hopefully Nokia releases fixed fw very soon.

Not having any trouble here loading ITT - youtube works fine as well - flash slow but to be expected with certain videos.

I've tried skype and it seems to be working well - audio was a little choppy on my end - was heard perfectly well through the mic - no headset used.

I'm debating whether or not to go all in with skype (pro/unlimited/in) considering at home and work I've wi-fi and have been able to steal from quite a few people here around town.

Update on the browsing experience:

Here at work all goes fine. No problems with any websites. Of course my home network and work network are two completely different infrastructures.

The long awaited N800 update is slowly turning into the 'update from hell'... Still, I do like the new screenresponsiveness. But that's about it. Let's hope Nokia will do something about it soon, so I don't have to reflash to old firmware.

Install or Update of some programs in the program manager fails with "not found" message.

Reason: In the repository http://repository.maemo.org/pool/maemo2.0/free/ are no files... The path maybe has changed to http://repository.maemo.org/pool/maemo3.0/free/binary/

Solution: Look into this path http://repository.maemo.org/pool/maemo3.0/free/binary/ and install the needed .deb packages directly

greets,
Joschi

It is technically almost impossible that WLAn works well on some web site and does not work on some other web site.

It rather seems the problems are in your configuration/router/dns or whatever.

I have zero problems with youtube, ITT, google etc. It just works as before, not slower and not faster.

I suggest to reflash the device, and do not install any backup or other software and then do your browsing tests.

Since the firmware update I cant get devicecape to install. During the install it comes up with Cannot install Devicescape dialogue box - no clues as to the reason.

Have tried it with two N800's - tried it on a third with old firmware and there is no problem.

Anybody else with the same problem? I have notified Devicescape.

thanks

That's been suggested already a couple of times. Done that. Doesn't solve the problem.

Greetings:

This may be offtopic, pardon me if it is.

I would like to know what happens now that many of us have firmware problems?

Do we wait for Nokia to release a new firmware?

Its been two days for me and the only thing that works on my N800 is Skype.

Regards Robert
