i got mine from nokia usa.. it doesnt come up with adapter... but i have that red thing with "nokia" on my headphone.

I got mine from Newegg. No red tab... I just checked... Oh it brought back good memories from when I first opened that n900 box

I ordered from dell on march 4th and do have those headphones.

EDIT: Never opened them. using my ipod headphones for now.

I dont know what it's for, but I think thats what the OP was concerned about...

The one that come up with the phone are original fake nokia, supper crappy and ugly after all. Nothing like the one they are showing on the product page. This is official scam from nokia... they have to recall them.

i dont think the stock headphones are that bad? compared to the POS ipod nano kit i got the n900 sounds fantastic!!

haha good times i remeber how I peeled of the black protector from screen
oh and you know I was surprised when I didn't find a thick manual ..oh well
