hey guys, i've already searched for topics on this issue but apparently they dont exactly have the same issue as i have.

my n900 wont start up. this all happened after i restarted last night.
(the only thing i did differently last night was that i tried to connect to wi-fi and i deleted some applications.)

if i try to start it up i get the white screen with nokia in it and after 15ish seconds the screen gets black again(like the device is turning off again.)

so because my battery was kinda low last night i am recharging it atm. but normally i'm able to start it up while charging but now it wont even do that.

all the device does is ocassionally give an orange light and when the light turns off the device vibrate's. and i get to see nokia in the screen(not the white screen but a black screen with nokia in the middle) and after a while it turns completely black again. and then it repeats the light, vibration and screen thing.

anyone got the same issues and got some fix for it ?

Yep, got the exact same issue, except battery was already fully charged when it happened.

is the orange light solid or flashing? if its solid then its not actually charging and your battery is just flat, freaked me out when it kept doing it to me, my car charger had stopped working properly while i was away from home for a few days, got back to the wall charger and all was fine, if its flashing when u charge u may have more serious issues.

I had a similar episode a few weeks back. It was as if the computer based USB charging didn't work. Charge it using the wall charger.and it should be back to normal.

flashing, so yea might be some more serious issue.

i personally think something went wrong when i deleted some apps.
tho im not that good with software stuff so i dont know for sure.

@ cricker.

it is charging in the usb socket... it just isnt connecting to it when i hold down U and put it in the usb socket.(so i can reflash it)

I have the same problem and I'm really kind of in a panic, 'cause I have no such skills as most in this forum have. I just fell in love with N900 and it has worked fine for me for a month, but now this happened!

It is exactly the same problem as nitria. When I try to charge the device via charger, it flashes the orange ligth quickly, then Nokia-logo is black against dark screen and the device vibrates. Then it goes black as if it is shutting down, and the cycle starts again. When the charger is on and I try to turn the power on, nothing happens. And when I take the charger off, push the power button the screen lights up, the blue Nokia-logo appears for a while and then the device shuts down without even flashing those five comforting dots...

Can anybody help this damsel in distress?

Hi,
I took my device to Nokia support here in Helsinki and they said there's probably something quite nasty going on with it. So I left it there and the nice man promised it would be back in business in a week. Fingers crossed (I miss it already...)!
Have a nice weekend, everybody!
