Hi All,

This is my first post here and would appreciate a little help.

I recently obtained the network unlcode for my device from Vodafone, however I'm having problems excuting this on the on screan phone keyboard, essentially, when I try to insert the 'W' symbol having pressed the * key four times, instead of the 'w' symbol I get the 'p' symbol again. If anyone can assist me with this very minor problem I would be grateful.

Many thanks in advance

I did about that when I got this device from Vodafone, I asked and they sent me the unlock code along with the instructions on how to unlock it, so I'm assuming that this one is locked to Vodafone.

As far as everyone I have checked with (5) we don't think that it is possible for Vodafone to sim lock the N900. I would suggest trying another operator's sim first. The firmware image is a different number but I don't think anyone has posted any known differences

i'm a little confused as to why vodafone's sending you an unlock code, if you've just boughthe phone from them usually they won't issue em for at least a year in my experience. which sims have you tried? i cant for now figure out how (if at all) to enter a w in the dialer but i'll keep looking.
