I was having Nokia 6600 and Nokia N73 with me. Then 2 months back I purchased N900 and give 6600 as a gift to someone. N900 pleased me for some aspects but also disappointed me for many symbian features. I shall also gift N73 to someone. And just want to purchase a set. I like symbian features and have planned to buy N97. Any suggestions? Which mobile you would buy if you would be at my place??

Thanks for the comments in advance..

Sony's X10
Nexus One
HD2 (now running pre-release of Windows Mobile 7 which is very interesting)
iPhone

All alright phones and probably much-of-a-muchness with the N900

if you like symbian and you consider the N97 go for a 5800 if you don't mind the lack of keyboard. It is the about the same device, hardware-wise
- same processor
- same ram
- little smaller screen
- no internal memory, but 16gb sdhc's are cheap now
- resistive screen
- it has a place to stow your stylus
- awesome gps (probably better than the N97's)
- no digital compass
and it's about half the price

Also the OMNIA HD is a fine symbian device, awesome 3,7" amoled screen but samsung has poor support, their update servers are mostly down (I have been trying months now to update and I always get the same error, "try to disconnect and connect your device again"), their fork of pc suite has some glitches.

yes I forgot about the camera... Anyway, windows phone is an os, and it's not yet out as far as I know. Most windows phones are made by htc. Then come samsung, LG, SonyEricsson, some Chinese no-name manufacturers, maybe Motorola (in no particular order)

I have used windows mobile versions 2002, 2003 (seems the most stable), 5 and 6 and it was a nightmare. Now that they seem to strip off multitasking and backward compatibility too, it sure is a no-go for me

e72 is better then the n97 in my opinion after trying both of them

the e72 processor is also overclocked to 600mhz

id consider that instead of the n97 and youd save a few pounds as well

the n96 on v30 is also a pretty decent device and the n86 is another id consider over the n97

the n97 just doesnt have the hardware for s60 5th the ram , the low cdrive , the apps that allways install to the low c drive and eat it up , the processor all lead to a nasty user experience

thats if you get one with the new backplate or you will have to send it away for repair and get the backplate and gps shielding to get a working device

the n97 is just best avoided mate
