It`s more fun to have a DIY battery instead....also it`s more powerful 1800mA@12V thats a lot of juice!

Fair play to you .. well good luck and let us know how you get on - always good to see innovative solutions! Personally I opted for the less interesting second battery option and as for the power monkey option mine seems to have died and the solar charger doesn't quite have the juice to charge the n900 (not that it would be a good solution on a plane anyway!")

You are NOT coming into the same plane with me with that thing!

LOL, no way man.

This 8800 mAh external power pack wouldn't look so scary.

Although I do wonder, when they will set the limit on how big Lithium-Ion battery you can take with hand packages.

lol, you are definitely going to get the extra security check. The X-Ray guys will definitely have you checked out. Man i will strongly suggest you not do this and miss your flight.

cool idea. excited to see v3.

i showed this thread to my mom who is a TSA and she says u will get some special TSA love for sure. anything that has exposed wires or looks home made is a no-no and will not be let past the checkpoint. it would really suck if your 900 get confiscated. good luck.

Ask your mom if the security procedure is different here in Europe than in the States (I think here in Europe we get some slack)....If yes I proceed with v.3.0 if not then I`m afraid there is no v.3.0

dude i love your ingenuity, creativity and technical prowess. but you are so gonna end up with an inadequately lubricated latex glove up your a** if you try and take that thing on a plane. seriously. is it worth it?
