Start the Camera app, press on the screen to bring it out of full screen mode, press on the title bar to bring up the menu, choose General settings, choose Memory in use.

Also, with the camera in use (shutter open) press the middle icon in the bottom left of the screen.
I have had to reflash several times now because of various issues and lost my pictures everytime. I almost feel as if it would be safer to store them on the sd card.
