I know there are some database apps for maemo, but they are rather flawed. This isnt a app per say, that is, its an app for computers not the IT. It lets you create a dvd database (music, books, comics, mp3, photo also available) where you search titles or barcodes through some online databases like imdb, amazon etc. It downloads covers and info into the database. The IT related part is the HTML export function, which lets you export to html. This can of course be transferred to the IT and viewed offline with the browser.

The apps are payware, unfortunately, but they work well. Theres also some other export features including listpro which from what i can tell is some palm app. The html export is higly customizable, what I've used below is just some default layout. More are availale online or by making them yourself, so im sure there are ones better suited for the IT. It gives you a list of movies, with thumbs, with info pages for each moves when you click the thumbs. Dunno how many have giant colelctions of dvds/cds etc here but its useful to me either way.

If your other computer runs Linux, there are some free apps that do the same...I'm working on getting my massive ebook collection catalogued using Tellico. It will allow me to export my database to html with hyperlinks for the file locations...I'm hoping I can go in and edit it to use relative instead of absolute links so I can use it on my n800.

Im updating this a big as I've played a bit more with it. I found the best export settings for me were 12 items per page, 135 pixel thumbnail size, 6 columns, do not show descriptions below thumbnails - using movie collector 5 black template. That will give you this look:

A buddy @ work just showed off this app on his iPhone (we've got a bit of a friendly rivalry going on ). I've gotta say this is ultra-cool. There's gotta be a way that we can use lardman's mbarcode to make the same kindof app for the N900. THAT would be NEAT!!
