Note: I am writing this remotely and don't have access to pictures or images to help illustrate certain points. I will try to update this later with some images (although the link below has images of the case and belt clip).

This is the link to the case I'm reviewing:

http://www.pdair.com/catalog/product...ducts_id=27477

It comes in silver or black. I got the black one.

I've used this case for a month and there are good and bad points, as with most things.

It is a decent-looking case (although that's a matter of opinion) with convenient access to the N900. The N900 slides snugly into the neoprene-lined interior. All the access points along the side of the N900, and the camera in the rear, are accessible with the case on. The speaker areas have grills to allow sound to come through.

You can access the touch screen functions with the case closed, due to the open screen design. To access the QWERTY keyboard, simply flip open the clamshell-like case and slide the N900's keyboard out. The entire top surface of the N900 is exposed when the case is flipped open, thus the case does not reduce the amount of space above the top row of keys (other cases I've seen will have a strip across the bottom of the screen, which effectively reduces the space between the bottom of the screen and the top row of keys, making it more difficult to type).

The only limitation I've noticed in terms of access to the touch screen with the case on (and closed) is you are unable to access enough of the screen to utilize the swipe actions from the left and right that activate the cursur arrow in browsers (with the finger swipe from the left of the screen onto the screen) or the web page history in the browser (with the finger swipe from the right of the screen onto the screen). But it is very easy to quickly flip the case open for those times you need to use the cursor or access the QWERTY.

The belt clip concept is useful in that there is a knob that screws onto the body of the case, and the knob itself clicks into the belt clip (the part that actually clips onto your belt), and with a press of a release button the knob can be slid out for free access to the N900 (in its case). There are two negative features of the belt clip in my month-long experience. First, although the clip has a nice distal-lip design to theoretically hook over the belt so the case can't be easily pulled off of your belt, it doesn't work. The reason it doesn't work is the actual space provided for the belt to sit is far too narrow, so that with any average belt the clip will be held slightly open, effectively eliminating any hooking action of the distal lip. Second, after two weeks of using the case, the screw that holds the belt clip to the case became very loose, to the point that you can perpetually turn the screw clockwise and never get resistance (initially, you would encounter resistance when the screw is essentially fully screwed in). After four weeks of use, the screw mechanism failed and the entire clip would fall off the case unexpectedly.

My thoughts after a month of use is that IF THE CLIP WAS DEPENDABLE, this is a great case giving decent aesthetics and very convenient access to the N900. I enjoyed (for two weeks, anyway) being able to flip up the N900 (in its case) and use it while the belt clip was still attached, and when I was done using the N900 I simply locked the screen and let go (as in drop it out of my hands) and it's sitting there on the belt clip, on my belt. Unfortunately I'm now back with a leather case I have, which means anytime I need to use the N900 I have to take the entire thing out of the leather case.

The fact that the clip is so undependable, yet such a vital aspect of my personal usage of the N900, I would not buy this case again. It cost $28 US dollars and took close to three weeks to arrive in the eastern United States (they are located somewhere in Asia, I think Hong Kong or China but can't remember), and it served its purposes effectively for only two weeks.

I plan to try super-glueing the screw part of the belt clip onto the body of the case. Even if this secures it adequately, it will be more or less permanent, and that means I can't remove the clip from the case and thus the case can't be laid flat on a table.

For what it's worth, hope this review helps in your decisions!

Apply Loctite to the screw that secures the knob to the case & you shouldn't have this issue again..
Loctite uses coloring of their thread adhesives to indicate strength, I would recommend 'blue' Loctite, as the next color 'red' generally requires heat for dis-assembly afterward..

Hope this helps...
