It's already ported. Just find python-scapy in extras-devel. Or download it here: http://maemo.org/packages/package_in...2.0.1-1maemo2/

Quasar, please do not point users to extras-devel without a warning, especially if they admit not being experts with Linux.

roja, you can find traceroute functionality in nmap (in Extras) by using "nmap --traceroute host"

Traceroute can be obtained from the Fremantle Developer Tools collection. See,

What's the big issue about traceroute? It's in the tools repository:

    Code:
    [root@n900 /root]% apt-cache policy traceroute
    traceroute:
      Installed: (none)
      Candidate: 1.4a12-21maemo1
      Version table:
         1.4a12-21maemo1 0
            500 http://repository.maemo.org fremantle/tools/free Packages

hi Patola, the reason for me to use traceroute on N900 is that i would like to know which AP(GPRS) it connects to, and to make sure it is my mobile provider(which provides correct mobile internet services).

Guys, i wonder if it is possible to connect to a 3rd party AP rather than your mobile provider? or is there this kind of 3rd party AP available??? for example, for faster connection or a connection allows for VOIP if your ISP doesn't allow it???

    Many thanks
