It has nothing to do with hildon-desktop, modified or otherwise. It is due to ill conceived changes to the extras-devel autobuilder.

What you can do is download the source and compile it yourself in the correct version of the SDK, or hope that someone else does this.

There is no known issue with the server, and the file was downloaded a few times in the last hour, so I guess the problem is at your end. Can you view http://my.arava.co.il/~matan/repo/binary/ with the browser?

Hi Guys,

Tried to install extra screens too but ended up with the not able to change background so uninstalled the modified hildon and restored the original hildon desktop. All went fine till now.

After that I tried another time same result but now I tried to install the hildon-home_0.3.58+0m5_armel.deb and the modified-hildon-desktop_1.13_armel.deb.
Didn't worked no screen at all. so uninstalled the modified hildon again and tried to restore hildon desktop, nothing happend, only one black screen.
Installed modified hildon again and reinstalled the hildon desktop.

Problem is now I have only 1 screen left....and rebooting doesn't help...

Can somebody help me to restore the other 3 or do I need to reflash my N900 (am not in the mood for that to be honest...)

Edit: uninstalling (with dpkg --purge the hildon-home_0.3.58+0m5_armel.deb & modified-hildon-desktop_1.13_armel.deb. doesn't do the trick.

Yes does anyone know how to remove these two files and a link to the original ones if any? The modified desktop file is fine but when I installed these it left me with no selectable images when I go in to change background image I just get blank box with More and done tabs. Someone else a few pages back posted the same problem. This only happened after installing these two files.

Is there NOBODY that can help me with restoring my 4 screens???....
am left with only 1 now...(ok that is functional too, but would like to have at least my other 3 back too...)(see post above)

Hope that somebody can help this blonde woman out.....

Restoring the Hildon desktop goes fine, it only shows 1 screen so I guess there is something else what's in the way or missing???

Did u run

sudo gainroot
apt-get install --reinstall hildon-desktop

Then reboot your device

also uninstall mod hildon desktop from app manager?
also does your manage view option show 4 desktops?

I already did all things you described for the last days...
but nothing helped...

today reading your last line...and while testing my brain
to look for manage view i finally found it and guess what....

YEP, all unchecked except 1....this is sooo dumb....and stupid ...
Checked all 4 and it is working like a charm again...
