I did encounter problems with wps, where you push a button on the router to connect, so wouldn't advise setting a router to use this, but, wpa and wep both definitely work with a homehub

I am 2 feet away from my wifi router. I don't know what channel its on, how do I check? And I'm 100% sure the key isnt wrong because it's my last name >__>

I have noticed a similar problem. I have a home wlan that is using wpa with 64 characters long password. (paranoid )

When trying to setup it with my N900 it only allows to insert 63 characters into the shared key field.......

I have tried rebooting, copying it manually from file or just typing the password. It will always say "maximum number of characters" or something like that - but in finnish of course.

I dont want to reconf my router as I have 5 computers using this PWD already and I really dont want to reconf router and all of them.

Help.

i had the same issues....

i just changed in the router acp the device type for my n900 form pda to general device.... you may try desktop pc too....

my router is a thompson... but i dont know the model now....

Was there ever a resolution? I seem to be having the same problem. I was hoping 1.2 would fix it but I still can't connect to Wi-Fi using WAP authentication. :-(

Same problem with WAP authentication here , on all other devices wlan works perfectly , but here -it doesnīt. N900 is really a wlan dependent device , and I canīt use 3g because I dont have an unlimited data plan, so Installing apps is expensive ... any help over the Wlan problem ? I tried the possible solutions but none worked. my router is Dlink

"Wi-Fi Protected Setup" doesn't work, is not optional, and is used when disabled.

I had some problems with the wifi dropping out every now and then. I changed the profile on the n900 and router to wpa2 only mode and it works all of the time now.
