Aww... if you don't like reading about N900 success stories that happen to spawn from all the mega-media-blitz of iXXXX (take your pick) then perhaps it is you that needs to go away.

Perhaps you shouldn't be so sensitive about someone stating what their stuff can compared to mass marketed stuff.

I own an itouch and an n900. The itouch is a far superior pmp.

Happy?

Why are we comparing a phone to a pmp or ebook reader?

Wait a minute!

Maemo.org is for maemo-based devices (e.g. n8x00 & n900).
The thread title is "Why I love my N900" and the first post is a positive comment about the n900.

And people are moaning about it and "defending" the iPad?

Have I missed something?

If someone wants to comment about the n900 then I think this is the place to do it.

It makes a nice change from "n900 does not do <specific iPhone function>"

e.g.
<specific iPhone function> = "multitouch"
<specific iPhone function> = "scroll as smoothly"
<specific iPhone function> = "help me find jesus" (was spotted in Apple store demoing the iPad)

I'm delighted with my n900 at the moment I'm using it to watch tv shows via tv-out, listen to music and access the internet without lugging my laptop everywhere.

If you want to talk about how great your iProducts are then f*** off to an iBased forum.

You don't have to bash an apple product to prove the n900 is awesome. Tell us what you did with the phone and skip the "can the <apple product> do that" bit

Though I also dislike unreasonable zealots (both camps) that blindly defends their beliefs on the slightest provocation, I think it is to everyone's advantage to have a realistic and accurate understanding of the competitors' strength and weaknesses.

The worst thing you can do to yourself in a competition is to underestimate your opponents.

You need to re-read the original post. No where in there does it say "can the 'whatever' do that."

With all they media hype currently surrounding Apple, I wanted to share a personal experience with my N900. I finished it by asking if any other device could accomplish that let alone a phone. No comparisons were made with any individual manufacture or product. It is the iFans that got their panties all in a twist over it.

You added your little "I would never own <apple product>". That's a typical troll move
