Even though they can do those things, I would definitely prefer to use my N900, but back in the day, PalmOS could do those things before most other devices could. I still use GarnetVM to run PalmOS apps that I have not found a good maemo replacement (Ultrasoft Money, Ultrasoft Datashield, Agendus, HandBase, ereader, etc.) Yeah, I'm still trying to milk every last penny out of the PalmOS apps I paid for.

What I have trouble is that someone starts a positive thread about the n900 on a maemo-orientated forum and iPhone/iPad users are moaning about it.

I can understand that if this forum was Apple-based and someone posted a comment like the oc then yes the moaning would be understandable.

But it is not Apple - it is Nokia/Maemo and we have every right to "sing the praises" of our devices. If people want to compare it to Apple products then that is fine too.

I posted that in the first post.

I'll never own a Honda either. Guess that makes me a troll for that too...

Never mind the 'trollness' of replying to a thread and defending a product that has no place on the maemo.org forum.

Go figure...

It's really sad when gregc2009 has to defend what he's posted in a maemo-based forum.

nosa101 if you don't like what you read in this thread then I strongly suggest you stop reading it.

Constantly bringing up an apple product in an n900 forum undermines the awesomeness of the n900. It feels like the n900 is looking for validation.
It is a great phone but comparing it to an apple product that isn't even comparable is downright ridiculous.
iPhone, I can understand but ipad and itouch is too much.

Interesting. Thanks for sharing your experience! Now that is the kind of discussion I would expect from N900 users. The sharing of information.

Was the Palm able to utilize Flash content on websites? Grant it, I didn't need it for my exercise that evening, but it did make it easier to see the results of my fax line testing.

I never would have posted the story if it wasn't for all the media blitz surrounding Apple at the moment. If the Droid came out after my project instead of before, then it would have been them in the first post instead of Apple.
