Then every casual user is going to clock his/her N900 to 1,5 Ghz.

with a "safe" range 600-1000mhz tops, and a custom kernel to control the level.

would be sweet!,

Hopefully not. Maybe evolution has given us a "caution gene". People who just blindly rush into risk tend to eliminate their species.

I think that the wise ones are like me; they take a good thing and are happy with it, rather than push for the max. However, if a few people push for the max and are willing to sacrifice, they are heroes, as long as there aren't too many of them.

Yup, something like the one available on the Android. It support multiple devices and is able to auto-detect max frequency.

Plus, it has CPU Governor feature.
And also profiles for limiting the clock for different conditions (e.g. Charging, Standy, etc including FailSafe)

I would say this is a controlled OC.

The Android app is really well built and well thought out.

N900 may be the geekiest device made to date, but XDA forums and Droid users have a lot of techers that jumped on the clock issue and made apps for it (Android devices). Odd joint venture, given that XDA folks only deals with HTC devices.

Hi I have the following command in desktop widget

echo "echo 1000000 > /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/scaling_max_freq" | sudo gainroot

and set the options to "update when clicked"
and uncheck "update when switched to desktop"...
network presence: "when connected".....

this will set my cpu to 1ghz ONLY when I connect to the internet AND click it???

2/ any possibility to have multiple of those??

or a command which switches to 1ghz and ,say 800mhz, every time i click it.........cheers
