Congratulations to the new council members, looking forward to work with you guys .

A big thank you for all the other candidates, I hope you continue helping the community, no need to be in the council to improve things or push new initiatives .

When shall we see the next iteration of this?

I got an email saying I could vote, followed the link, couldn't figure out what to do, so I didn't do anything. Make it easier to figure out.

As the guy who wrote the mail and put up the voting website, I'd be happy to. What exactly didn't you understand? I assume you arrived at this page:

    http://maemo.org/vote/

which had a link (while the election was open) to this page:

    http://maemo.org/vote/vote.php?election_id=9

The mail you received contained the instructions - URL, email address, token to authenticate, and the screen afterwards contained the list of candidates, who you could click on to select them in order of preference.

What gave you trouble? I'm happy to make things clearer.

    Cheers,
    Dave.

I just tried to find the email but I must have deleted it. It was weeks ago, but if I remember correctly I was taken to some wiki page somewhere because I clearly remember the gray background, some list current and past council members and wondering if I was supposed to edit the wiki page to vote.

Thinking back on it, it is quite possible that I just recieved an email saying that voting was happening, not necessarily telling me I could vote.

Considering that I've been on the forum (albiet not under this username) since it was Internet Tablet Talk I figured I should have been able to vote, but in hindsight I probably am not able to since this account is so new.

    Hi,

To jog your memory, if you did get a ballot, here's the exact contents of the email you sent (minus the voting token). Is this what you received?

    Cheers,
    Dave.

That email does look very familiar.

I remember those wiki pages. I followed both of those links, but the Maemo_Council was this version http://wiki.maemo.org/index.php?titl...il&oldid=31258 instead of what it is now.

So apparently I'm an idiot and just didn't read the rest of the email and thats why I didn't vote.
