ohh yes multitasking was one of the major reasons for me to buy the n900 now there are not much really good arguments for the N900 beside the open source.
Funny - for me the open source is a huge reason, because the device is an actual multifunctional computer. But I understand that people have different motivations and reasons. Luckily there are good devices for both of us
I think my iPod touch is running at 532 MHz. Both my n810 and my n800 multi-task just fine at 400 MHz with a very, very similar CPU and a much heavier OS, and Apple doesn't consider the iPod touch 2G psuedo multi-tasking worthy? They are truly software pussies.

I've concluded that the thing about Apple is that if they can't implement it in a fashion where the functionality will not harm the perception of Apple products then they will choose to omit it until they can either get it working or until people forget about it (with the help of marketing).
For example, cut/copy and paste, multi-tasking, etc..It's likely that they don't want the perception of Apple products to be poor at say multi-tasking so instead of letting users try it out themselves and learn that it's a bad idea to run X many heavy apps at once they rather just not let them do it at all.
Part of that is why I can never own an Apple product. If I did I would constantly be fighting against their walls (e.g. jailbreaking) which as we can see Apple is more than willing to play the cat and mouse game with jailbreakers.
Of course he thinks it is good. Because now iphone users can be flooded with pop up ads from the ad company that Apple bought.
In fact Jobs says he thinks he can be serving up to 1 billion ads per day.
IAds coming to a Iphone near you.
Apple having complete control over your device and content even better.
