There is no "better ulv kernel". Each individual OMAP has its own lowest voltage in which it will work reliably at a given frequency.
TI only promise that 600MHz works at 1.35V (OPP5), but my device (and most others) also work at 1.2V (OPP3) - but some don't, and no kernel change will make them work. If you have such device, you can try 1.275V (OPP4) and probably some intermediate voltage levels. Similarly for other frequencies.

I just tried the ulv and it didn't work on my phone completely... brain party froze first time i tried it.. and gave graphical errors the second time.. think ill try titan's this time

Is it just me or am I not the only one who thinks that a 250-500-550-800 MHz, normal-volted Kernel from Lehto would be the perfect solution? I do not like the 125MHz step, as I am thinking it is responsible for some stuttering. I also do not like the 900 as I think it might be too much.

I think the 250-500-550-800 Setup might be perfect Maybe a fiasco one to save typing when flashing?

Unfortunately it seems not to be available ATM Lehto, may I ask you to please do such a thing (if not fiasco, no problem)?

No..I thing 250 - something - 900 will be the perfect choice.

So, we've diferent opinions.

Anyone tryed this:

scaling_max_frequency 600000 to 900000

CPU: 250mhz / 500mhz / 625mhz / 720mhz / 900mhz
DSP: 90mhz / 180mhz / 360mhz/ 400mhz / 430mhz

?

Oh, thanks for the heads up. So probably the appropriate phrase isn't "a better ulv kernel." Maybe "a suitable ulv kernel" -- a set of kernels with different voltage levels, starting with OPP3 -- that is, If only there's a way to determine the minimum reliable voltage for a certain N900 CPU without doing trial-and-error. (Although if there's no choice, I'll be willing to do just that. )

Btw, Lehto's 800Mhz-ulv kernel works for me. I wonder what voltage levels he used there... I know it's not OPP3 because when I tried titan's ulv kernel (he used your patch for that one, right?), it was terribly unstable.

And in case I haven't said this before, you guys have done a lot of great stuff in the past weeks. More power to all of you! I'll try to give some feedback for this kernel.

for everyone a different kernel is the perfect solution.
i actually get a MUCH longer battery-life, because my N900 is idling many hours of the day (125mhz ftw).
and when I'm surfing, everything is faster, so faster to idle, again...

I just tried Lehto's 800-ulv but the device started behaving crazy, awful lags switching desktop, opening main menu/dashboard and dmesg with some core sth and I quickly tried to go back to 850-450, as it was working like a charm before but my eyes accidentally stopped on 900-500 and thats what I'm on now and thats the first issue I've had since OC'ing started in maemo world but have never gone beyond 950 though and absolutely loving it.. thanks

Crack me up when I clicked on Lehto's my oc kernel collection it stated that it is optimized for ipad. No flash content. Anyways nice work on over clocking the beast. The first couple of post on this subject was meet with negative reviews, glad to see that didn't discourage you and others that help with this project to push the boundary of this device. This is why I'm glad to own a device that is open souce.

Also tried Lehto's ULV-kernel, but wouldn't even boot. So it's back to 950Mhz/stock DSP for me!
