Hello I have a Internet connection Unlimited with Telenor Sweden and I'm using this settings:

# Connection Name: Mobilsurf
# Connection Type: GPRS
# Access Point Name: services.telenor.se
# Username: (blank)
# Password: (blank)
Advanced:
# Use Proxy: Yes
# HTTP proxy: 172.30.253.241 (if I use 172.030.253.241 Not possible surf)
# Port number: 8799
All other blank

And the problem is I can surf as normally but when try to go Application Manager and clik in Update show and error message for the following catalogs: Details
Nokia Applications, Nokia System Software Updates and Ovi in the error show Proxy CONNET aborted

This is the log:
hildon-application-manager 2.2.52.2

E: Failed to fetch https://downloads.maemo.nokia.com/fr...pps/./Packages Proxy CONNECT aborted

E: Failed to fetch https://downloads.maemo.nokia.com/fr...mr0/./Packages Proxy CONNECT aborted

E: Failed to fetch https://downloads.maemo.nokia.com/fr...ovi/./Packages Proxy CONNECT aborted

Could someone that have a telenor connection in sweden have similar problem or solution,

Thanks so much.

One of my friends has a similar problem with Telia Denmark. It just won't work with his N900.

Now I fount a solution, if I un-check the use of the proxy
Use Proxy: Yes (change to NO)
# HTTP proxy: 172.30.253.241 (this is not active)

Then the App. Manager Updates works, then my question is wich is the diference use the proxy or not?

Thanks

You will not be able to use this access point for MMS. This is about the only drawback I have been able to find, also using Telenor Sverige. Maybe one can set up some manual entries in /etc/hosts to make this work as well, but I haven't had time to test this, not a great priority either as I use MMS as little as the next guy...

Since there is a mms setting pointing to http://mms my idea was to make a hosts entry for 'mms' pointing to the http proxy ip address.

Ok sound logical, but as you said I'm not a guy that use mms then now is fine for me. Then is not any other problem using my connection with out the proxy right?

Thanks
