It preserves your settings with phone calls and ignores Nokia's CPU locking to >=600MHz during phone calls. Phone calls still work for me but they are now for better for your device than with the stock kernel!

By default the kernel sets the range to [250,600MHz] (even if pmconfig contains 125000/600000).
To set the minimum to 125MHz use 124999, for a maximum of 600MHz use 599000, otherwise use the real frequencies.
I do not recommend 125Mhz, however.
min=125000 and max=600000 are ignored by the kernel.

Installation:
Code:
wget http://maemory.com/N900/overclock/kernel-maemo_2.6.28-maemo20_armel.deb
wget http://maemory.com/N900/overclock/kernel-modules-maemo_2.6.28-maemo20_armel.deb
wget http://maemory.com/N900/overclock/kernel-flasher-maemo_2.6.28-maemo20_armel.deb
dpkg -i kernel-m*
dpkg -i kernel-f*
halt
Letho, could you please upload your arch/arm/mach-omap2/omap3-opp.h so that I can upload
a low voltage kernel with similar settings as yours?
Yes sure, I will first do a little bit of tweaking first.

just went to the Letho 800/1100 ulv one ... smooth as butter.

During (and after a call, I only tried ringing, not picking up and talking, the freq. goes to (and stays at) 800 ... Still at lower voltage than stock 600 as far as I know.

Also the peaks to 1100 are a bit scary ... but usability is great. Maybe a peak speed of 900 would be more conservative and not sacrifice the wow-feeling too much...

Maybe I'll try the new Titan kernel if he gets the ulv patches from Letho in, could be best of both worlds.

Great work guys, thanks for trying to bottom this out. I feel the ulv work is offsetting my fears for premature aging. It's just a pity not all CPUs seem to like the ulv settings.

Now theres a 1000mhz step one with stock voltage. I'll add a 900mhz one if I find a good 100% stable voltage for it.

titan and Matan: Heres the omap3-opp.h
omap3-opp.h Its the latest one im testing with what happens with the L3 settings so ignore those and just rip the cpu voltages from there.

Lehto, could you upload the non-ULV-1000Mhz/500Dsp kernel aswell? Would love to try to hit the 1Ghz

Lehto, are you sure it's 1000 only? I have just tried and Conky reports 1100MHz, and also
Code:
cat /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/scaling_available_frequencies
1100000 800000 500000 375000 250000
Anyone can confirm?

EDIT: after exchanging PMs with Lehto it appears that initially he uploaded a 1100 MHz kernel on his site. Now it's correct and Conky reads 1000 as max speed.
Runs wonderfully on my device. Still with those kernel warnings, though.

In some way related to this:
http://www.slideshare.net/igor_stopp...ternet-tablets

Igor stoppas old power-point slides. Looks like its for n800 but pretty interesting stuff in general and probably is relevant to N900 also on some levels.

Hello Friends!

I have a Problem, Kernel images on this site http://www.saunalahti.fi/crailt/ They open on a page with a lot of characters,
I already tried to save in. Txt but the N900 does not start, even with the lower speed.

I'm putting the N900 Kernel Images Across the Flasher-3.5.

Am I doing something wrong? There is another way to save these characters to be a Kernel Valid?
or is there another way to Put on N900?

I used the http://www.farahfa.com/n900-custom-kernels/ and It All Work Perfectly Across the Flasher-3.5

Thanks for Help!

is kernel

the new kernel version maemo20 in extras-devel (not testing!) is basically the same (+Matan's battery info patch). Please check whether phone calls still work for you (it's very likely).

No. The 1ghz mode is already non-ulv
