Hi,

I recently got my n800 a few days ago and am enjoying it alot and reading the post on the forum have been really helpful. However i have a question about the firmware update. I went to install it and there was an error saying my computers clock was wrong so it couldnt install, Eventually after trying multiple time changes on my clock it took me to a page saying "you are temporerely ignored by this server", and now it directs me to this page everytime. Its been a couple days since and im wondering if anyone has had this same issue and how long until they were no longer ignored, or if anyone knows of a fix to this.

Thanks
Miller

Sounds like you tried updating too many times and it blacklisted you, classifying you as a denial of service attack zombie or something. Who knows what process they have for removing blacklisted ip addresses from their filters.

Does your clock reflect the correct time and date? Are you in the states or somewhere else? Are you using the US version of the Nokia software updater?

Windows update does that sometimes too. Change the date and time in your bios.

Sorry to bump this but if anyone ever has this trouble you can manually update it. You just on the nokia update page click the manual update instrustions and it is quite easy to update.

If you can get to the download, put it on your desktop. When you run the updater it asks if you want to do it auto or manual, say manual and point it to the file on your desktop. That's how I did mine.

I got this error (just a couple of times, I was never "temporarily ignored by this server") and found it quite unbelievable that the software cares about exact timing on my Windows box. After a couple of failures, I guessed that this must mean that my Windows machine had the clock set slightly wrong, so I set the clock back a minute or two and it fixed the problem allowing me to succeed on the third try.
