I bought the N800 last Thursday when I saw the announcement about Skype on the N800. I assumed that a major Skype announcement on a device with built in camera would mean that all is working together nicely. I upgraded to the new firmware and connected to some Skype friends, but I see no sign of my camera working with Skype. Hope this is just a short term problem because I really like this little thing so far.

You could use a plug-in called festoon on the PC which gave you video functionality and would have allowed what your looking for. The Festoon site has vanished. www.festooninc.com

Looking high and low I found a place it can still be downloaded:

http://www.filepedia.com/network_sof...ng/festoon.cfm

However its no use as when you try to make a video call you get an error from the plug-in saying it can't find the servers at festoon, as I have already said the site has vanished.

To sum up, what you are looking for was available but sadly is no longer.

Its intresting see if this makes difference to videocalling. Maybe pc support will be better later.
