well the low 125mhz has encountered some problems to some people,

i use a different kernel but i hve 125/900mhz voltage, so far everything is fine

It says:
clocks_off_while_idle 1
voltage_off_while_idle 1

But i have:
clocks_off_while_idle 0

Again..What the meaning of those values? Should i change them to 1 ? How did they get 0 if i dont change them?

Question for those running this at 900Mhz is it possible for any of you to install Windows XP now or Windows ME at a decent speed? Even 95 or 98 would there be much diffrence... 300Mhz could make a huge diffrence..

Changing these values to 1 would turn on SmartReflex, a power management feature. For majority of the people, it causes N900 to become unstable but if it works, it increases battery life. To be fair, if you are using the XLV kernel, you would get limited benefit our of it

No.

These values are not the smartreflex ones.

please let me know whether the upgrade worked fine
or whether you had problems. I'm waiting for your feedback before I promote it to testing.

If you used one one of my experimental kernels (not the ones from extras-*)
I recommend the following:
* create a backup!
* reset pmconfig to defaults (125/600)
* reinstall the original kernel and remove kernel-maemo kernel-modules-maemo
apt-get install --reinstall kernel kernel-flasher
apt-get remove kernel-maemo kernel-modules-maemo
then install kernel-flasher-maemo again
apt-get install kernel-modules-maemo
alternatively you could upgrade on the command line and check whether there are any error messages:
apt-get upgrade

in the worst case just reflashing the original kernel over USB should be sufficient

Maemo22 worked like a charm for me.

Had trouble from 19 to 20, did 21 in xterm. 22 from app.manager with no problem. Running the event.d-script and everything working great so far.
