Good on ya bjknight at least your trying lol but i got a feeling only those directly involved with the public release are gonna know anything, i bet it will be within a few days now though.
@ the newbies just joining the forum , welcome and do a bit of research on here cos its packed with loads of fantastic stuff about everything to do with N900 Maemo and meego.

It is not confirmed that MeeGo will be available for N900. It's just confirmed that you can't update from Maemo to MeeGO (this leaves places for speculations as someone might understand that it can flash MeeGo on the device while the other just won't get it. I think the second is a little more accurate since not everybody know/dares to flash his device).
But at the same time, the only mobile platform to test MeeGo at this point is the N900. Which doesn't imply that you the end user will actually get the MeeGo that you want, you know the one with GUI. Even if ported by the community it will still be a problem, with the proprietary drivers for bluetooth, battery etc. and also some of the developers might move to the next MeeGo device so they could make some money (if Ovi store is fixed) because there is where most of the people will join. And some of you will leave just because they can afford another 600 euros device.
There will be still a community here but not as big as this one and not as full of developers as this one.
    this is just my opinion.

If meego is open source then N900 will be able to run the Meego software

you will still need the proprietary drivers for the nokia device, which aren't open source, and probable won't be.

I "thought" the big Nokia company (which most of its phones have MMS!!) would at least release an update -- for MMS!!
