Signed up for the beta, hope I get a shot at testing.

EDIT: hopefully this will put to rest the previous claim that Nokia said Ovi Suite would never support the N900.

Nokia never said that, Infact if I recall clearly they always said we are working to bring Ovi Services to N900 but the next device (MeeGO) will be Ovi Ready and with all the Ovi services... N900 May just get few while MeeGo devices will get all !

I do hope they are going to develop some Ovi software on Linux too and they are going to improve them a lot.

Actually Ovi Suite is not so bad, but Nokia Photos and Nokia Music are really hard to use on Windows too. They are slow and they lack many feautures you can find on similar products. If Nokia wants to become also a service oriented company they have to work hard on these products and they have to bring them on more platforms.

Should it come to light that Ovi Suite is compatable, then it'll show Nokia lied through their back teeth. (See Nokias reply), and I'll never believe another word they say

There's absolutely nothing there from Nokia saying that Ovi Suite would not be compatible with the N900. It says they are/were working on an application specifically for the N900 - this may since have been dropped, merged with the new Ovi Suite, or still be in development.

So with Nokia saying
"Based on your concern, as of now, we are in the process of developing a software application specifically for the N900.

Does that not indicate to you that Ovi Suite is not going to be used?

No, it says they are/were working on something specifically for the N900. Admittedly, that would suggest that they weren't planning on Ovi Suite support at the time - it may be that they changed their mind since, or that there's an N900-specific application still to be released, or that the N900-specific application is actually just a shim sitting between the standard Ovi Suite and the N900.
