I've had my N900 since February and I've had no problems until now. I've noticed that any shortcuts on the desktop only work for a few minutes after the phone is first turned on and then after that they launch nothing. Clicking on the desktop itself gives me the option to edit the desktop with the cog in the top right of the screen but clicking the shortcuts doesn't do anything, not even make the cog appear.
Also, whenever the phone is on silent and I receive an SMS, the phone doesn't vibrate, the indicator light doesn't flash blue nor does the launch button change from the grid icon.
Yes those have been checked. The silent profile has 'vibrate' ticked. I haven't seen any options to disable the idication light when receiving text messages, nor to disable the grid icon on the launcher button when a text message is received nor to disable desktop shortcuts after X minutes of the phone being turned on.
