don't think so, when your on the net and you get a phone call the data stops, correct. Only one carrier I know lets you use voice and data together, so until the I would say NO.

Data connection does not stop during cellular call when you use wifi or 3g.
I have been able to simultaneously make cellular and IM voice call. But only one call in active at a given point in time. The other call goes on hold.
EXACTLY, don't know which provider your with, but only one allows both data and voice seemlessly (US). Can you surf the net and talk at the same time? Don't get me wrong would love to have this feature, but the way my carrier prioritizes voice and data I don't see this happening. there is a another thread on UMA functionality of our phone and wether its a software issuse versus a hardware.
I believe that data stream is put on hold when a voice call comes thru and when the call is ended you can resume your data call, is that correct?

I have tried it out with my wifi connection. I can browse while talking on the phone.
My understanding is that for the conference feature to work, it must be supported by the service provider.
That is, if your network supports conference, you can make a cellular call conference. If your IM supports conference then you can have a conference among your IM contacts.
And all this interconnections happen at the service provider end.
But I think it should be possible to mimic the conference feature on n900 by properly routing incoming and outgoing voice signals.
Also, I guess it's illegal in some countries to route phone calls via internet as the service providers lose money.
