Thanks. I think i tried couple of times on n900 and on local browser and it didn't start streaming.

Btw.
I´m reading this:
http://www.videolan.org/streaming-features.html
And looking ASF mux options and it seems that m2v/a is not "officially" supported container/mux. Just wondering because it´s used on n8/n9 profiles.

http://wiki.videolan.org/Codec#Video_Codecs

mp2v is mpeg used in DVDs. For now it seems to be an ok format because VLC has problems transcoding xvid/divx to xvid. Asf is the container used, since it seems to work best and is lightest of the muxers that work with http, but sometimes seem to to cause some gray artifacts, which should disappear soon. TS works fine too.

I commited a fix to git that should finally fix the aspect ratio problems people were having.

Hi,
I might found reason (and fix) why vlc on windows doesn't restart after crash:
http://wiki.videolan.org/Windows_ser..._Service_Hangs

Actually it showed me dialog about crash right after when i restarted knots server.

Hey, How about putting one extra field in profile's advanced settings for custom cmd switches?

You mean the same for profiles that params for VLC under each item does? Not a bad call, but what settings are missing that you'd need? It's easy to add, but I fear the not so technical people start getting scared of the amount of options

Great! It works!

Was it an easy fix then?

Hard to find, easy to fix Just unnecessary width and height on transcoding line that weren't needed with canvas.

Heh. I´m sorry but there is already s*it load of stuff in settings and i think that user who doesn't really understand them doesn't touch them Btw. I didn't find description for all parameters in transcoding profiles. What do "extra" and "player" do? (probably if someone has too much time he could make css-popup-help for parameters)

And i mean field where I can pass extra options to vlc. Same like on smplayer (frontend for mplayer) where there is field in advanced settings for experienced user to pass extra parameters to mplayer e.g. filtering etc..

Btw. How i can add those windows fix parameters to vlc's start command on servers start script.

Can someone please post the settings for the N900 transcoding profile? Maybe a screenshot. Because I deleted the settings because I foolishly thought that I the N900 might not need converting so I could save the CPU some work.

I do not want to go to the hassle of reinstalling the server

Probably we should export default profiles and upload them to wiki (if it´s possible)

.edit
Sorry it's not default
Threads is 1 in default, but if you want vlc to use all your processors power and you have multithreading capable processor then put there 2.
