    HI all

since the pr1.2 update should be "near" I'm thinking if i should be getting the device ready to upgrade to this version.

I have 33MB free space on rootfs....do you think this is enough?

Will running any of the free space rootfs scripts help? which one do you suggest?

    thanks all

you can disable the application source in App.Manager for a time, that'll give you at least 22MB free space。

    turn on it after upgrade!

IIRC I read yesterday an update requires ~45MB free rootfs space, I'm not sure what update that was though.

    See http://wiki.maemo.org/Free_up_rootfs_space .
    http://wiki.maemo.org/Cannot_install_firmware_update says 42MB.

I do not think so that the size will increase up to 50mb. On the other hand to handle this matter my disabling the application catalogs is hard nut to crack.

Yes , disabling the application catalogs give you much more free space, do it and run on a terminal df -h to check how much free space you have .

You may uninstall all themes (mostly Iivilsteel ones) as they usually take a few valuable kb.
Also some packages from devel may cause the drain of space. Take a look at /usr/bin and /usr/lib and see if there is any application installed there, then you can uninstall it and see if some space have been recovered.
